Assistive Devices & Rehabilitation for Persons with Disabilities
Bhagwan Mahaveer Viklang Sahayata Samiti (BMVSS), widely known as the Jaipur Foot Organisation, is one of the world's largest organisations serving persons with disabilities. Founded in Jaipur, it has fitted over 1.3 million persons with artificial limbs, calipers, and other assistive devices — completely free of charge. The Mumbai chapter supports persons with physical disabilities in the region, providing prosthetics, rehabilitation, and mobility aids. BMVSS is globally recognised for the low-cost, durable Jaipur Foot prosthetic, which has enabled lakhs of amputees to walk, work, and live with dignity.
In October 2023,Artek Surfin Chemicals Ltd. and the Beniprasad Goenka Foundation made a contribution toward assistive devices and support for persons with disabilities in Mumbai. Two months later, in December 2023, a further contribution was directed toward rehabilitation support for the same community — affirming that Artek’s Surfin Chemicals Ltd’s ; commitment encompasses both immediate device provision and the broader journey of recovery and social reintegration.
